Lena Brandt
Universität Hamburg law faculty. Independent corporate practice.

Biography
Lena Brandt is a qualified lawyer and partner leading the Hamburg office of German Firma. Her academic background is in law at Universität Hamburg, where she graduated from the Fakultät für Rechtswissenschaft. She started her career as an intern in the Transaction Tax group at EY Hamburg, where she learned how German VAT and cross-border transaction structures look from the inside of a Big Four firm.
Over roughly nine years she shifted into independent corporate practice focused on the topics that made Hamburg what it is: branch registrations of foreign parents, fiscal representation under § 22a UStG, OSS and IOSS filings, and shipping-adjacent trade compliance. She owns the firm's branch-registration and VAT-and-fiscal-representation pages, and is first point of contact for UK and US sellers who need a Hamburg VAT footprint after Brexit or Amazon-FBA expansion.
Lena's typical mandate.
- Standard first-year compliance package: monthly Voranmeldung on day 10, OSS quarterly, annual VAT return via advisor extension to end-February year+2 per § 149 AO.
- Routine § 22a fiscal-representation mandates for non-EU sellers with DE warehousing.
- Post-Brexit UK sellers and US Amazon-FBA operations are the bulk of Hamburg caseload.
